SECTION ONE

Small overview of the series

Madden is a video game for most consoles that is football based. You can create your own team (Even the players themselves!) Or you could use a team that is pre-made with all the players from that real season! Their stats are very identical to the real sport! They implanted "Franchise mode" into the game, which is where you can play as any team through an entire season. You can advance to the playoffs and even the SUPERBOWL! For football fans this is awesome!

The Beginning

The first game to come out was in 1988! My god right? It was called "John Madden Football". It was for the Apple computer that I am not sure the name of. This is where it all began. The games after (In order) are this;
John Madden Football
John Madden Football II
John Madden Football '92
John Madden Football '93
Madden NFL '94
Madden NFL '95
Madden NFL '96
Madden NFL 97
Madden Football 64
Madden NFL 98
Madden NFL 99
Madden NFL 2000
Madden NFL 2001
Madden NFL 2002
Madden NFL 2003
Madden NFL 2004
Madden NFL 2005
Madden NFL 06
Madden NFL 07
Madden NFL 08
Madden NFL 09
Madden NFL 10
Madden NFL 11
Madden NFL Football
Madden NFL 12

Some more History

It wasn't until 1998 that they finally added franchise mode. This gave players the ability to play multiple seasons, make off-season draft picks, and trade players. This is still there today, and probably always will be.
In 1984 Hawkins went up to Madden. The CEO and game producer Joe Ybarra and planned a followup meeting with the broadcaster during an Amtrak train trip over two days because of Madden's fear of flying. Lol The EA executives promised that the proposed game would be a sophisticated football simulation, and asked the retired Oakland Raiders coach for his name and expertise. Madden knew nothing about computers beyond his telestrator but agreed; he had once taught a class at the University of California, Berkeley called "Football for Fans", and envisioned the program as a tool for teaching and testing plays. (Madden still sees the game as an educational tool. When asked in 2012 to describe Madden NFL, he called it "a way for people to learn the game and participate in the game at a pretty sophisticated level.)
In early 1990 EA hired Park Place Productions to develop Madden for the Sega Genesis videogame console. The company had already developed ABC Monday Night Football with "arcade-style, action-heavy" game play, and its Madden also emphasized hyperreality compared to the computer version's focus on exact simulation.

The 2000's

Madden 2003
There are multiple modes of game play, from a quick head-to-head game (Quick Play) to running a team for a whole season or even multiple seasons (Franchise). Online play, which was a new feature for Madden NFL 2003. (Xbox of course)

Madden 2004
Also, starting with Madden NFL 2004, EA Sports created the new Playmaker tool, using the right analog joystick found on each of the adjustments previously unavailable in prior installments of the franchise. One such adjustment includes the ability to switch which direction a running play will go without changing the formation. Before the to the Playmaker tool was happily put into the game, you could only call one of four available "hot routes." With Playmaker and the use of the right thumb stick the player is given 4 additional Hot Route options. This made for some real sick gameplay. Especially for the time period! I mean come on, its MADDEN!

Madden 2005
n Madden NFL 2005, EA Sports ran a campaign with the Theme "Fear the D" emphasizing their improvements on the "other side of the ball." (For dumb people its Defense they are talking about...) In an attempt to re-balance the players experience, EA gave a Playmaker Tool to the defense. Similar to the offensive Playmaker Tool, the defensive Playmaker allows the player to make pre-snap defensive adjustments. This is just so helpful. Now I know I am not the only one who waits for so long listening to this. 2005 also added "EA Sports Radio", a fictional show that plays during the menu screen of Franchise mode to provide a greater sense of a storyline during gameplay. It features Tony Bruno as the host, who often interviews players and coaches about how the season is going and also has quiz questions in which fake listeners call in to make attempts at answering football-related questions. This is so fun to listen to, there is nothing funner on a lonely friday night then listening to this stuff.

Madden 06
BRING ON THE DEFENSE! In Madden NFL 06, the "Truck Stick" was introduced. I love running around with the ball knocking b*tches over and getting that tuchdown. It is that feeling of....of maybe. Hmm, its the feeling you get when you hear your favorite song for the first time. That tingly feeling up and down your body. You begin to get chills and.... I am trailing of again. They also added the QB Vision feature in the 2006 installment. With this feature, a cone of spotlight emits from the quarterback during passing plays, simulating his field of vision. To make an accurate pass, the quarterback must have his intended receiver in his field of vision. This helps..... a lot.

Madden 07
They introduced the Lead Blocker Controls which allow users to control blockers during running plays. They also fixed and revamped the Truck stick, making that much more powerful.... hell yeah.

(I will finish the rest later, meaning Madden 08 - 13. Also the head coach series of Madden. So don't think I am done. I will also add trailers for each game that has one. And maybe some pictures. Color and organization will be done also)
