Its kinda like a bomb. When you not getting hit with shrapnel or fire you can still die. It literally Pushes the Air away so fast it can break bones and liquify organs. The bullets is Traveling so fast it causes that to happen on a smaller scale.

I am pretty sure a small object, like a bullet, will not affect you that much if it missed. Let's talk if a bowling ball sized object passes you that fast, and I still would doubt it.

The reason he said this is because when you shoot the .50 cal round it doesn't stay in a straight line. In fact most of the time it turns sideways and starts to barrel at you causing the damage that it does.

I'm not saying you wouldn't feel it or it wouldn't hurt, but to liquidize your organs? I don't think any serious damage would be done. You may be hurting but that's not serious. If you start coughing up blood, then you have serious problems that need attention. I don't think it will kill you, or seriously injure you.

This is totally believable, a Barret isn't meant to shoot a Person out in the open. A Barrett was made with that type of power to pierce through armored vehicles, so the displaced air would pretty much, kill you if the shot missed by about 1-4 feet.
