Will that work for a TETHERED jailbreak? Would i be able to turn on and off without redsnow? Im doing this because i wanna do 5.1.1 untethered..

if you update to 5.1.1 its unjailbroken and you can do the 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak i did it 1 hour ago!

Do I just go into settings and software update on my phone? I tried that last night and it said error..

You will lose everything on a restore unless you back it up to iTunes where you can put your stuff back onto the device once you restored.
