If your using a wireless connection for your Xbox try switching to an either-net cable and if that doesn't work make sure you or family members are not downloading Big files while your trying to play.

My opinion is that first of all it is minecraft even for the PC or MAC or Xbox it has always had lag, It could be that their are to many people in your world, It could be To many blocks in your world taking up memory causing it to lag, Could be that you are close to the edge of the world so the rest of the world does not generate cause it cant cause you are at the edge causing it to lag, Ect...
