Normally people in the marketplace use it for ease of communication between buyer and seller. Less personal than msn and more than e-mail.

MSN is linked to Facebook and Youtube and your hotmail account. Its pretty personal. AIM is just a standalone.

AIM is now linked to Facebook. I guess people have abandoned it too soon to realise this.
