Okay so I know quite a lot about video production/video editing and all the different technicalities that go into making a good video, a great video, so I'm here today to give you a few basic tips when it comes to using one of the best Video Editing programs available, Sony Vegas.

#1 - Project Properties

Now the Project properties don't make the quality of your videos better, but say you were rendering in 720p, but your properties were in 480p, it would be extremely hard to crop everything perfect in your finished project. So below I have put some pictures of the properties I use in my videos to get the best outcome possible, enjoy!

(The rest like Ruler, Summary and Audio CD do not matter)

#2 - Timeline Tips

You might have heard of these little tips before in various YouTube videos and thought "Well, that didn't do much" but trust me, they do. Unticking 'Maintain Aspect Ratio' allows you to crop better by stopping you making the video smaller or 'Zooming in' in the video, and Disabling Re sampling makes sure the frames flow by smoother than before (removes motion blur)

Right click on the video > Properties > Untick these two

#3 - Rendering

Now I'm going to skip colour correction as that is too complicated for a text tutorial, but I might do a follow up video on my tutorial channel on YouTube, but I'm not promising anything.

There are 2 main file formats used to render videos on YouTube in Sony Vegas, these are .wmv and .mp4. the difference is nothing too big, the main one being .wmv has a smaller file size compared to .mp4, but only by a few megabytes, however they still make a difference!

#4 Result

Okay so if you followed everything properly, you should end up with something like this! (Bare in mind, I did add in some colour correction to this, but that's for another time)

#5 - Summary

And that's it! You should have learned these steps, please do as it makes your videos a hell of a lot better looking on YouTube, which means great content, which means subs etc..

Enjoy my lovelies!
