Good god, neither. They are both grossly overpriced, all your paying for is a little alien, or a little apple logo.

But it all depends on what you want this laptop to be used for. School, work, gaming?

Get a desktop. A $1500 laptop is pointless, since for that money you can have a desktop with twice the power. Do you know how to build a PC? You will save money.

Go build yourself a custom desktop. It will be cheaper and the specs will be much better of either the Alienware or mac.

Okay then I suggest you get a desktop. The only benefit of a laptop is portability, which is specifically helpful for if you have to go to school (college), or work at a business. You will save a lot of money on parts with you just build a desktop from scratch. Their are plenty of helpful members who can picks out every single part for you! Plus a desktop will be 10x better for video editing and browsing will be a lot easier.

Here is a link to a topic where you can ask questions and tell them exactly what you want!
