My dad got this PC from his workplace for free and gave it to me. Here are the specs:

RAM: 4gb
System model: Dell Precision Workstation T7400
Processor: Intel Xeon CPU X5472 @ 3.00GHz (8 CPUs)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700
There's also an NVIDIA Tesla in there too

I know this computer is build for 3D rendering and stuff but what upgrades should I make to make it into a gaming PC? I know the graphics card needs upgrading but what's a good one to get?

Thanks

By the time you actually find a half descent video card that is geared towards gaming like a GTX 560 ti for example, you will run into case and PSU problems since manufacturers put the cheapest components they can in a plastic case with 1 x 120mm fan ( and this assuming the card will physically fit into the case ). You'll also will have to take into consideration bottle-necking problems and make this even more confusing. You're going to end investing more money into this workstation than what it's actually worth.

Thank you for the advice. My birthday is in October so the likelihood is that I'll just wait and build a PC myself. Although not much +Rep for the help
