rsullivan4897 wrote So basically the i5 speeds for games will be just as good as i7 but i7 is more for what then? Like graphics?

Like CPU-intensive programs that can make use of the threads, like rendering programs, modeling, etc.

I've got yours in progress, it's going to be really great. I'll go for triple monitors and a lot of storage and RAM like you did.

Budget & Currency: 1000 GBP - Can push to 1200 but 1000 is the budget.

Peripherals & Monitor:

Mouse - fingertip grip mouse
Keyboard - 50/50 of gaming and typing
Speakers - Actually not sure, just something which gives good quality sound but I'll be using headphones often so it's not something I want to spend much on.
Monitor - 20" 720p+.

Games: Call of duty, Minecraft, Battlefield... Basically any game that is quite popular.

Software: Firefox, steam, photoshop, sony vegas.

Aesthetics: Just a good looking case, preferably red/black but if it looks good, I'm happy with that

Rebates/Promos: Don't include.

Details: It's mostly for gaming so it needs to run fast and I will also be making videos.

1044.03 - it is a bit over budget but there are still some things you can do to change that. I personally believe this is a great build and is what I'd suggest, but again..it's your money. You can drop the SSD and switch the Green to a WD 1tb Black and save quite a bit of money but lose the speed of the SSD.

A 2500k will rip through any editing programs and crush games - match that up with a killer Hyper 212 and get some moderate OC's and you'll be set for a few years. HAF 922 with a red/black color scheme as wanted and great ventilation with the 2 x 200mm megaflow fans. 128gb Crucial SSD for your boot drive and most used editing/gaming programs - 1tb Seagate for movies/music/pictures/etc. 21.5'' LG IPS panel is a a solid panel and is an IPS screen so you'll get better viewing angles compared to a standard TN. 8gb's of Corsair which is a low-profile kit will do you just fine for any application(s). To power the rig you have a 750w XfX PSU which is identical to Seasonic PSU's and has XfX's extended warranty. MSI Z77 G43 with crossfiring and high OC'ing options - I always suggest this board for a reason. To display the graphics you have a XfX 7850 which is on par with a GTX 570 but consumes less power and has XfX's lifetime and overclocking friendly warranty. To end the build, you got a Quickfire Rapid with blue switches and the ever so popular G400.

Budget & Currency: 800GBP (Pounds)

Peripherals & Monitor: Monitor, keyboard and mouse. Speakers.

Games: I'd like to play BF3, Arma 2+3, Crysis, future releases etc.

Software: None, I will pirate win7 ultimate

Aesthetics: Possibly a windowed case, not that important

Details: Is it possible to get a build with keyboard and mouse and then a build without keyboard and mouse? If so, that would be great.

Thanks a bunch.

I had to sacrifice on some parts like an SSD and after-market cooler to accommodate the peripherals.

Total 820.59.

This will easily slice through BF3, even when playing on 64 man servers. The extra gig of vRAM is usually useless for most games, but BF3 will require it, especially when you crank up textures whilst playing @ 1080p. Descent Asus TN panel - 1920 x 1080 and has LED back-lighting so it'll be pretty bright. Case has side window as desired + 4 x 120mm fans. G400 mouse with configurable buttons for MMO's and what not. 500gb Seagate should be sufficient - it'll be used for both boot and storage due to budget.

Not that is on Ultra with and without AA. Your screens refresh rate is 60 so any FPS above that is pure bragging rights. Solid card either way and later on you'll be able to add another one since the G43 and 750w XFX can hold 'em.

Thank you very much. I could maybe even do without the keyboard and mouse as I have them already but they are regular Dell and not gaming specific.

Yes, that will be fine and cut back on costs. You don't have to buy a KB/mouse right away, especially if you already have them even if they are not as favored as a higher end mouse/KB. I myself play on the lowest of the low and I do fine...but that's just me.
