Okay so do you need the transfer cable that Microsoft sends you or can you use one from a different brand name that you can buy a a retail store?

So if you go through MS they will ask you a series of questions like the two serial numbers on your HDD and just a bunch of crap that you probably won't have an answer too, and you can only buy a transfer cable in a retail store if you buy a new 120gb HDD (the transfer cable comes with the new HDD), so your best bet is on eBay.

I actually found mine at a xbox repair shop....they had two so they sold me one for 5 dollars......However, I cant even begin to explain how lucky i was....lol
Just like the posters before me....ebay is the best way to go, but it never hurts to call around to repair shops.....
