That is the best way. You can also use a dazzle but they are not as good.

A Roxio Game Capture Is only like 70 dollars without componet cables. It can record very nice and you can export in HD but other than that get a HD PVR

An HD PVR would be your best bet.

Get one of the 3:
Roxio: $70-90 (depends where you get it)
HDPVR: $150-200 (depends where you get it)
AVERMEDIA Game Capture: $125-150 (depends where you get it)

You can find tutorials for all on how to get the best quality

Everyone saying Roxio is wrong. Roxio allows you to play in HD, while recording in SD. HD PVR is one option, and Black Magic has the Intensity Pro (Plugs into your PCs PCI slot) and the Intensity Shuttle (Standalone, connects to PC via USB 3.0). They are the same price, but Black Magic has HDMI recording capabilities but is a bit more difficult to set up than the PVR.
