well bang the top of it, or just buy a new one?, theres plenty of tutorials on youtube.

I had this on my old xbox, and apparently if you press gently yet relatively firm on the top of the xbox, it should work.

if it makes the noise like its spinning and says opening for a long time its probly the tray belt on it u can fix it if u take off ur face plate first then open the rest by taking the case off and unscrewing every torqe screw u need to then the top part comes off then u got to unplug the disk tray from the console open it with a philips head screwdriver take off the metal case andon the bottom theres a lil plasting slide type thing u push it into the plastic it should release the tray alowing itto open then find a realy realy small ruber band thats about the side of a the tip of ur pinky finger and look at the top of the tray thers a big circle and a small one stretch the band around it it will act like a new belt for the pully then put it back together if its the jamming issue some ppl just put a nfe and pop it open but that brakes the rubber band they use as a belt

My tray doesn't open when my xbox lays down, so i have to change the position of my xbox and than it will open.

I have the same problem on the slim but it's open i've tried cleaning the laser this must be the 5th time the laser cleaning didn't work but later on last night or this morning rather i fixed it but woke up this morning and it's not working again it's horrible think i'm gonna have to buy a second hand xbox
