I was cleaning and I accidentally plugged up the wrong power supply and made the damn thing short out. I called tech support and they said that my warranty doesnt cover stuff like that. WHat Im asking for is a story that I could give them to fix it for free. Im thinking of saying I was doing a 24 hour live stream and it started to lag and then shut off and I started to smell it burning. Sounds like a similar story that might just get it fixed.

Sounds to me that you need to buy a new PVR. When the power cuts like that theres no fixing what it was plugged into.

You plugged it in and the thing just wouldn't turn on. You don't need any elaborate story, just something as simple as that.

Well if the tech support guy said your warranty doesn't cover that then that means it still exists (you still have time left for it to break and get another one for free). So yea make up something somewhat similar to what you said and they will most likely send you another one. Or you can ask the tech support guy what the warranty covers than make up something within his answers.

Just mess it up more, make up a BELIEVABLE story. Like "I turned on my HDPVR, and the light flickered then I smelt burning plastic so I immediately shut it off, and it no longer works."
Didn't hear it from meh
