Let's just say that T-mobile is not up to par with Apple's "standards".

Their services are bad and not as many people use T-Mobile.
Most use AT&T, version(ME), and sprint

T-Mobile just isn't in a good relationship with Apple. If you really want an iPhone and you're on T-Mobile, go out and buy an unrestricted At&t phone and then plug a T-Mobile SIM Card in and do the steps. Many of my friends have an iPhone on T-Mobile. I'm not sure if this method would work for the 4 or 4S but it does work for the older iPhones.
