i Have spoken to one of the people that interview notch and the new update for mine craft is going to have pistons four sure and now red stone will work for a detonator for TNT it is taking so long because they have to patch all the bugs and i am not sure if this is true but they might be adding texture packs which will be free to download you just choose your own.But for sure the update will be some time this summer.

Doubt you have spoken to someone. We all know pistons will be added, its a no brainer. As for the texture packs and skins, they won't be added until a later update, not the first update.
