I have found nearly 20 - 40 diamonds in an hour by doing this.
HOW TO FIND LOADS OF VALUABLE ORES WITHOUT DUPING! EASY AND QUICK!
Things you will need:
1.) LOADS of TNT
2.) LOADS of torches or glowstone.
3.) LUCK

Okay, so first you would need to be at bedrock level. ( I mine straight down. Worst idea, i know )
Now, i usually make a ladder from the bottom to the top so i can get down / up with ease.
Anyways, you will need multiple stacks of TNT ( Dupe or legit )
What i do is dig a tunnel straight in a direction then dig some to the left then to right.
Next, you fill it up with TNT.
Now, you punch the TNT so it sets off. Then you will need to back up. FAR. or you will die.
After it is blown up you will need to plant your light sources. I prefer glow stone over torches because then emit more light.
Now dig all ores, even coal, because diamonds are usually next to other ores. ( I dig in a 5 block radius of ores to check for diamonds or useful ores.)
Now keep doing that and you will run into diamonds or useful ores.
NOTES:
I play on peaceful so i don't die nor run into mobs.
Now you may need to dupe TNT.
I honestly just posted this out of boredom.
Good luck to you for finding valuables!

I do this also but instead of using a ladder I just dig straight down the full the really deep whole with TNT, I haven't found diamonds yet but a bunch of every other ore. Pretty useful post to some of the newbies to ttg and minecraft.

Diamonds don't spawn next to other ores, it's completely random.
And TNT only yields like 30% of the material it breaks, if you break diamonds well, you probably aren't getting them.

Exactly, this is a terrible way of mining. And why dupe TNT so you can get many ores legitly? Dupe the ores if you are going to dupe the TNT.
