I can assure you that those messages are 100% fake. You will never be contacted ingame in regards to becoming a forum/player moderator.
The website address given will be to a phishing website.

I recommend setting your private messages to friends, this way you will only recieve PMs from people on your friends list.


If you notice with the PMs given in the screenshot that the entire PM is made by the user "i tell lies". First of all, this account is a recently created level 3 and will show up if typed on the RuneScape hiscores. Jmods and anyone related to them (Not including forum/player moderators) will not appear on the hiscores.

The user has used many spaces to make it appear that somebody has sent you a PM after he did.

DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING RELATED TO BECOMING A MODERATOR ON RUNESCAPE OTHER THAN MESSAGES IN YOUR RUNESCAPE INBOX.

You can tell it was fake in the first place if you looked under "Community", they forgot to code in the players bit its just blank lol.

It's a spam, that makes you look like you're getting a message from who ever they desire.
Simple really, but also very rare someone messes up as badly as he did.

1) Doesn't have a gold crown next to his name.
2) you will NEVER be contacted in game, always via the pm service as you login to runescape.
3) Not an actual runescape domain, it will always start with [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
