Or, you can become a doctor. Make twice as much money, and not be killed.

_Wiz_Khalifa_ wroteVaio wrote Im stuck on what i should do for a living.
I can fly planes which would help in the - RAF
I want to physically fight for my country - Royal Marines
I could travel the world as well as identify enemy aircraft - Royal Navy
What should i choose
Yeah you travel the world, cool. But you dont exactly go on the country or whatever, Just a view from the boat, Not as good as it sounds, Trust me.
You do get off the boat, its not all about looking from a distance

Pretty sure 99% of the time in the RAF is spent drinking cups of tea... from friends stories.
But to be honest unless you're in the royal marines no one does much as not much is going on

Royal Air Force definitely. Opens up a lot more doors but BEWARE:
2 years ago, my cousin's boyfriend went in for pilot training in the UK for 16 months, and out of the 500 applicants, only 7 were picked to fly.
If you wanna fly in the RAF, you MUST be the best of the best.
Although if you do get into the RAF as a pilot, it opens up A LOT more doors in the future such as being able to become a commercial airline pilot, a flight instructor etc...
Good luck friend.

My cousin was left paralyzed after just 3 months of being an aircraft mechanic in the RAF. He worked in the field for about 12 hours a day and then was up at 0600 every morning. Was like that for 3 months until the accident.
Definitely not 99% drinking cups of tea!

Royal Marines? The green berets offer a huge amount of opportunities after your finished with them, you also get superb opportunities while with them. I would hugely recommend joining the green berets.

Kalax wrote. He was an RAF mechanic, from what I know they do alot more work than pilots (which is what the topic was questioning) , pilots are often just stationed and await work. That is, when they are not training. I'm also sorry to here about your cousin.Human wrote Pretty sure 99% of the time in the RAF is spent drinking cups of tea... from friends stories.
