Anyone who has never heard of those bands really do not know death metal. Opeth are more melodic death metal but nonetheless still death metal, Amon Amarth are f***ing brutal and there newest release surtur rising is a masterpiece, and arch enemy are just awesome.

From a personal POV, metalcore is one of the worst sub-genres of metal to date, along with thrash and "screamo" as most people call it nowadays, which I think is more a range of music from metalcore to post-hardcore.


Woah woah woah, you can't hate on thrash. Thrash has done alot for the scene. How do you think Metallica started?

Dont hate on thrash dude! Thrash was basically the paving stone of all metal/hard rock that we have today.

I know they aren't of 2012, but I've always liked Hollywood Undead. I get to see them at Rock USA next month!

I suppose I forgot to say new thrash haha, love the old thrash stuff especially Metallica, but nowadays thrash metal is horrible

Now we're on some common ground now lol. All the classic thrash is very good, like Metallica and Megadeth. Todays stuff is more on the "ehh" level. Not the greatest, by far. But I've heard worse.
