i wouldnt joining the army isnt really that smart of thing to do now unless you really cant get a good job because after you are out of whatever you are doing it takes a long time to get a job and is very difficult because you dont have enough experience for most jobs so i would say no

In America the benefits are outstanding. Practically free college, early retirement if you stay, and it looks amazing on a job app. I'm sure in Britain there are equal benefits, maybe even better. It's very tough to choose between going straight into education or going into the Army. Luckily, you are of very young age and have plenty of time to think about what you choose. My advice is to finish school, and if you have a nice college to go to, maybe even a scholarship then take the education route. If you don't really know what you want to do in school or life, and need some direction even after school, then join the Military. Obviously the risk of death is there, but there are plenty of safe jobs in the Army, Navy, or Air Force. Being on the front line killing brown people isn't as exciting as you might think, especially nowadays.

If i was you. I will join the Army. Im not sure if the British Army is like the military in America, but here you can still go to university for four years and come out a higher rank then rookies so say. I give you props for wantin to defend your country. I think everyone should still enroll in it for the 8 years once they turn 18. But remember, either way you choose. Your parents will support you.

Hey man; Yeah I really do recommend to go Into the British Army. I am From England (North west part) and I am joining the Army soon. I am even doing a electrician course In the army or just be In the front line In the British Army regiment, The Mercians. But I have a bit of a advantage
Because at the Minute I am In Army Cadet's (GMACF - Great Of Manchester Army Cadet Force) and I am a lance corporal. So I have the knowledge and the experience, For example I have used & Shot the L98A2 which Is the cadet version of the SA80, But they are near enough exactly the same.

SA80 - What the British Army use

So like I said there Is not much difference.
But back to you. I really do think you should join the Army. One because It Is better than what some 16&17 do by being on the Dole all the time. You will get something out of this.
Think about It say If you wanted to go In as a electrician In the army, When you left the army you would still have the knowledge and the experience of being a electrician In the Army so you could start a business out of It etc...

So like I said I recommend you Join the British Army because not just you will make Me & Your family proud you will make your COUNTRY proud.

I hope I gave you helpful advice. If you want to talk more feel free to Pm me or Aim or Skype me. My contact detail's are In my motto.

Make your country proud my son.

If you are in the right emotional and physical state, and it's something you think you'll enjoy, then yeah.

Just think: Are you prepared to leave your family?

Im joining the US Army after college. I remember signing up freshman year because there are US Army trucks that come to my school twice a year. We do military activities and this really cool flight simulator. Anyway, I got the confirmation letter and their going to pay for my college. HOOAH!
