I think you should do what you think is best for you.

It's a really big decision and I would spend a lot of weeks thinking about it.

It will change your life

Do it if you really want too. After I'm finished with high school next year I'm enlisting in the U.S. Navy. Well whatever you do, I wish you the best of luck.

(If you want to complain about the necessity of this thread on a "gaming" forum, report it rather than flame.)

I am 16 almost 17 and have had private education costing 10k a year and currently in the lower 6th form of my school (same as first year at college). I am contemplating joining the British army when I have finished my 6th form. However it means I will not go to university.

I am looking for advice off other people around my age that either have joined or about to join the army or have no ambition to join the army to get an external opinion.

What do you think?

If yuo just hvae intrest and guns and stuff or whatever, thats cool. but i promise you thats not all of the army. in america, if britian is the same, we are trained to use our hands before a gun. we use guns during battle in a villiage or city, but when we are roaming we usally have no need to use a gun. it's a lot of work , but if you commit then go for it. but all i gotta say, if britian and america have conflict and they go to war, retire.

It's up to yourself. If you're up for a challenge then go for it. I can assure you it can be fun but also tough.
