Why are you spending so much on a notebook that'll only be used for basic tasks? Sure an SSD would be wicked, but that surely does not justify paying twice what you normally should. Also, Asus is launching their new line of Zenbooks with 1080p IPS displays making Apple as a whole an even bigger waste of money. Don't fall for their marketing, because that's really all it is.

OP owns an iMac, he's already been shafted by them and bought their grossly overpriced product.

It's nice to know you can spend twice what you should on a product with an Apple logo on it. It's sickening.

Well you already own it so it's not like there is a turning back point now. But back to the original question, there are so many better, cheaper options out there than a 11'' Mac. Hell, an HP Folio is $800 and matches the same specifications but for less money and has more real estate to work with. The battery life is on par with it as well ( high end Asus notebooks being the best but way out of the sub ~$1,000 mark ).

So your gonna spend that much money, and enjoy using OSX just to put windows on and use for everyday use.

I use macs but your mental if you already have an iMac.

If anything...sell your iMac get the Air and a Thunderbolt display

Dell does the same with multi-colored LED's that somehow look appealing to a huge crowed.

I bought an iMac for my rapping career and my gfx.
Im not rich, but if you maybe buy it NOT from the apple store for like $600??? <----thats what I did.
Everyone complaining about the over-pricing on it is TERRIBLE ..
they all want instant gratification, If you put some work in and look around, you CAN get it for cheaper.
