You're 1000% wrong too.

I played Divison III basketball for a semester at USM. I dropped out of college because several of my friends got killed in a car accident. Moved back home and joined the United States Navy. My parents paid for everything and my college was 100% paid for on scholarship...still wouldn't go back and change it for anything.

Still think serving your country and getting on the job training is better than anything a classroom can teach you.

Hence why I'm now moving into my new job, which pays...well, very well.

Sorry about your friends but I can see where he is coming from. I believe he's saying that since his parents paid a large sum of money to pay for his educational fees and try to give him a good life, it kinda would be throwing it back in to their face as he could die on his first day in the Army (when he's overseas) but also, I see your point.

I say do what YOU want to do but also try to take, most importantly, your families point of view into perspective. I wish you the best of luck and hope everything works out for you!

Well, you can always discuss this with your army carrier adviser. If you're a smart cookie, I suggest going to university and joining a little bit later as an officer. An army career can be put on hold but your education cant. Anyway, I saw good on ya for taking the time to think about it. You're doing your country proud!

Im thinking of joining myself as im not going far after school lol. But it will teach me discipline and leadership and many different skills like hand to hand contact and you get advanced training with guns it's a great experience and don't belive people who say.. well if you join the army you will die. It's true you are in serious danger but the army teaches you how to kill and how to prevent being killed.

Hope I helped.

Good luck if you join mate.
