So, long story short my little brother ended up getting mad at me and he threw my iPod classic on the ground. 160 gigs newest generation. Just my luck my computers hardrive was found out to be shot that week too, so i have no songs. I try to turn it on and all it does is give the red x in the circle and says to reformat it, I didn't want to lose my music so I tried all the home remedies such as hitting it to reset some pin inside of it and nothing was working. Now it won't even turn on. I will do the reset thing where you hold the center and middle button and it resets but the apple logo will only pop up for about 3 seconds and then it will turn off, this is only when it is plugged into the computer too. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I really don't want to get a new iPod and above all collect the 4000 songs I had on there again. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated and I would rep you everytime I am on this site for at least 2 months.

If your computer doesnt recognize it, then its going to be hard to fix unless you bring it to a apple specialist.
