I have a 360 that I have been working on and the laser starts a centimeter or 2 away from where it is supposed to start. When it does this, it gives the classic "Unrecognized Disc" error. I can push the laser to where it should be and it will start up and run the game just fine. After I push it and start the game and then open the disc tray it goes back to that wrong starting point. Any help on how to fix this would be much appreciated!! THANKS!

When all else fails, duct tape my friend. Hold it in the correct spot with duct tape that's one solution I can think of.

Or tighten the screws in the disc drive with a torx. If all else fails I might consider getting a new tray.
