Generation wrote Blah blah blah. It's all text. Go to your local PC shop where they have a lot of mechanical keyboards on display and test out the different types of switches and see which what fits you best. Personally, I feel that would be the best option and you won't be throwing your money in the dark. Some say 'X' switch is best for 'X' scenario, I say BS since it's completely up to personal preference. I myself will be picking up a Quickfire Rapid ( blue switches, very loud ) and I'll be gaming a hell of a lot. You can basically get any KB with that budget as well or a sub ~$100 KB and maybe a 128gb SSD?

That is the problem we don't have those big stores that have lots of keyboards.
And the boards they have are those white/grey 10 year old keyboards.
I'm looking between an Azio "Levetron Mech 5" and a "Quickfire pro"

I'd avoid the Azio board because the design is ridiculous and you have to worry about build quality. If you do want backlight, the Ducky Shine is what I would choose hands down if you want a full-size board.

For gaming, blacks for sure. If you'd prefer a switch that's a good middle ground between a typing and gaming switch, I'd get Browns. They also have other color LEDs, and personally I'd go with white.

This is what I'm getting in the mail within a few weeks, you might consider it if you'd prefer a tenkeyless board. It comes in a variety of switches and backlight colors. Mine's got Browns with white LEDs!

those are pretty cool. I would check out razer's selection, they are usually the more popular

Completely the wrong switches for gaming and comparatively bad material and build quality. Awful glossy finish and flabby software as well. I rarely recommend the Blackwidow.

Razor makes good products but their keyboards aren't that good.
