I've never heard of Boss. Care to share?

Bose tends to suck for the price though. I wouldn't mind a pair of old Triports for $40 though. Those had a unique sound.

Music preference: J-Pop, J-Rock (a vaguely defined genre, but I listen to mostly anime/game songs and BGMs tbh)

Type/form factor and portability: over/on-ear

Open/Closed (Not for in-ear): either

Source(s): Sony Walkman NWZ-E438F, LG G2X

I think I've already asked before, but I'll do it again just to test the waters. Not sure if I can justify such a purchase to my parents, but either way I intend to get the best bang for the buck.

Any suggestions? Bumping this post up.

I knew I missed something. I have no idea what sort of sound signature compliments those genres, but I don't think you can go wrong with the Koss DJ100. One of the few cans I've actually been able to use, it's nice and neutral, built well, versatile, and portable. The hinges are pretty cool, too. I'm completely unsure of availability or pricing in Canada, though, as always.

Haha, uhh...Audio Technica tends to make Jmusic sound great. If you can somehow find an ES7, that'd be fantastic.

Ishcabible wrote I definitely would not get a K701 if you were looking at a Fanny Wang. They won't have enough bass, open as the outdoors, and you probably won't get enough volume from your source, unless it's a receiver or something.
Well what would you reccomend for something bassy in that price range? Or lower, that's always nice. Haha.

The V-Moda LP2, Audio Techhnica Pro 700 MkII, Ultrasone Pro 750, even the Pioneer HDJ2000 would be great options. Closed, portable, and bassy.

Well I am currently planning on getting a pair of Crossfade Lp 1's. Would you reccomend the 1 or 2?

You're dealing with diminishing returns here. You'll pay almost twice as much, but they won't be twice as good. It's like that for pretty much everything, though.

Well I don't want a straight Black Headphone so I'm thinking the 1. I've heard some people say that the quality is way better on the 2 and then people say that it's almost the same so I really don't know.
