if i make my rgh kernal a dev kit kernal will it run on comands and will it be a dev kit

If you use a Devkit kernel, it will function as a Devkit. I believe you'll need a sidecar for DVD emulation, unlike normal JTAGs, not completely sure, though.

He's correct. Dvd emulation requires a side car, as does cpu monitoring. But, if I'm not mistaken you can get debug output through certain contacts on the board on any console. Other than that you have full use of the sdk, and Xbox 360 Neighborhood is pretty useful.
