--MG-- wrote IMO Java is the easiest and most fun language to use but I started out learning basics with c++ then I moved onto Java I'm currently entering my freshmen year of college as a comp sci major but I code at more of a junior comp sci major level. But that's only because I have had 2 semesters of c++ and 2 semesters of Java under my belt

I am starting out with Java. Actually, I started with Visual Basic. Now I'm doing Java, and soon i'll move over to C#

Since most people suggested the classical suggestions I will throw in two new ones. Perl and Python are two easy languages to wrap your head around imo, and have some very cool and unique features to them. Like GCI scripts.

I find it really hard to learn a language like C++ or C#
HTML has nothing to do with gaming but I do think it's the easiest to learn by far.

Im currently Studying Software Design I Suggest You Start on Java And C# Then you'll gave headstart when you go college

yeah, i just want to learn a language so i can get a feel for what coding is like..
im learning java right now but my friend wants me to learn C# with him so we can make a indie game -.-
