My friend gave me his old graphics card, he had it for a few years and it works perfectly in his pc but in mine it does not.

I've installed it in my pc correctly i know this 100% however when i plug it into my monitor, my monitor says it has no input. the graphics card is DVI and im using a DVI to VGA adapter

under device management it only registers my integrated graphics

graphics card - GeForce 9600gt
motherboard - foxconn h67mp-s/-v/h67mp

if any other information is needed let me know

It might have already died or the adapter just doesn't work somehow.

Did you change your BIOS to boot from that graphics card as opposed to the on board graphics card?

^What he said.

Also, try installing the drivers for the card. That might do it.
