It's not possible since the dashboard update. Ever since then once you try to swap disks with the old method while the xbox is trying to load the disk option menu up, where it brings you to the install menu, it will either not read the disk or give you the option to buy the game instead of play. The only way to hot-swap is to open your xbox.
