You OK with that? I've heard they didn't really need one but benefited quite a bit. Do you want to add one or do you not want to deal with it?

If a cheap amp could marginally improve the sound, then yes. Right now I can't really stand them, to be honest. M50 pads would probably help, too.

Huh. Didn't see that coming, I thought of them as a pretty pleasing-sounding can. So will you try to sell them in favor of something with... Say... An Audio Technica house sound?

r00t_b33r wrote I honestly don't see how these couldn't be completely identical. Seems like it would be terribly inefficient on Koss' end to make a slight change in this model compared to the other. Personally I'd put some sort of covering over the signature, like a sticker or even plasti-dip.

Just got them. First impressions: a ton of sibilance, and cymbals sound really, really bad (if for a lack of words). This is through the Sansa Clip+.

Oh, and sooooooooooo forward.

I think I need to look into an amp, because this pair should have been burned in by now, and it just doesn't seem to sound that good - yet.

They definitely need an amp to sound anything less than bright. They should flesh out a little with burn in, but I highly suggest getting at least a CMoy.

The only Audio-Technica earphones/headphones I've listened to were the CKM55, CKM50, and SQ5. I didn't like the SQ5 very much, though I don't remember the reason. I'm not too sure what the AT house sound is like.

I'll look into that. You know any cheap places that ship to Canada? I'd do it myself if I had the expertise, but...

AT's famous for not having a house sound actually. The only thing any of their headphones have in common is really colored mids.

The Monoprice 8320 and Meelectronics M6 are both great for the price. They're $7 and $20 respectively.

Yes, they are. The price was just reduced on them as well to $20, which is news to me.
