I am new to the android community i have only had Iphones before this. I would like to root my htc thunderbolt. Would somebody please help. I checked the sticky about rooting but the thunderbolt is not listed there. A step by step tutorial would be amazing.

well, theres a lot you have to know about your device (not so much) you have to know how to get into the bootloader (hold volum down while powering on), what version your hboot is, what version your stock rom is and stock kernel, how to do nandroids (backup of your phone incase anything goes wrong),..it all depends on why your rooting. is it for ROMS, kernels, or just to have root access to remove useless carrier apps and tether ? i found this tool for you
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ] check it out, looks really cool...
that will get you rooted hopefully with no problem.. also i am not liable for anything that goes wrong, neither is TTG and neither is xda devs. this also will void your warranty. but dont be scared..good luck
