Yo i just got bf3 today i had to download the online pass but most of the servers i try to join say im missing content do i need to buy map packs?

no, there are servers that you dont need map packs to play on. I would download B2K its a free map pack but other than that check to make sure you have all multiplayer updates.

It could be premium servers or you have just missed a download somehow.
