I have a handful of simple yet noobish questions I was hoping for some help with.
I have a dual NAND slim (im guessing its a trinity) with Cygnos, it needs to be updated to the latest dash, I've read here and other forums people who update via live will mess up the console, how would I go about properly updating without any issues?
I'm also curious about trying a dev kernel, what is the difference between RGLoader and the Fusion kernel? I've read that fusion is based off an older dash, and the RGloader is based off a newer, so not all games will work with fusion compared to RGloader, is there any truth to that?
Also if I were to put one of the dev kernels, I could still run freestyle dash from the dev dash? If that's true, then what is the point of the triple NAND, if you really only need 2? Is that the obvious answer why everyone says demon is the end all, all you need answer?
What's the difference between the trident triple NAND and the demon dual NAND?? I've seen several videos of triple nands on YouTube that seem pretty cool, flip a switch between retail, freestyle dash, then a dev kit. Is that worth getting? Anyone have one? How does it compare to demon? Or is the demon the most user friendly? What's the difference between by current dual NAND Cygnos? And the demon?
What about a dev kv? Are the dev kernels useless without a unbanned dev kv? I saw boss lobbies sells triple nand slims, and also offered unbanned dev kv? Is that worth getting?
Also what about RTC? How does that work? Dev kit kernel RGloader and fusion both support that? And are they only for offline or private matches? That require your computer or can you do it from the dev kit?
I apologize for the stupid questions, I've been reading up on the trident, but allot of people seem to complain about it, say the demon is the way to go, but if I already have a Cygnos dual NAND do I even need the demon? Or the trident?

cygnos works just fine i have a few of them and there is no problem updating them at all. as far as rgloader and fusion i prefer fusion because i can choose between retail and dev signing. and as for a dev kv you really wont gain much of anything besides access to pnet. its over rated and not worth the extra money. just update your nand on the cygnos and you will be all set to go.

If you update your stock nand via xbox live you will not mess anything up. If you try updating the unlocked nand via xbox live your xbox will be instantly banned. You will need to run your rgh nand through something like Autogg, Jrunner or xebuild to bring it up to the latest dash.
In regards to your Fusion/RGLoader, you heard correct. New games will not run on Fusion as TX based it off an old dashboard whereas with RGLoader you will have no such problems. I personally prefer RGLoader, Fusion has performance issues on my xbox as well.
You can run FSD off a dev kernel. Anything you could do on a jtag you can do on the dev kernel. And as for the point of the triple nand, I'm just as stumped as you. I see no plus side to having 3 nands. Just switch out between the dev kernel and regular kernel as you see fit, or just use the dev kernel as that can run everything an RGH kernel can run. Demon has the best read/write times out of anything out there, and since it is from TX it is pretty user friendly. Demon is a continuation off the cygnos project, and claims to have gotten rid of any glitches the cygnos had. Not really that different from your cygnos so I wouldn't recommend switching them out.
Don't get a dev kv. You don't really understand it's purpose and that's to get onto PNET. The dev kernels for rgh's do not include these by default, but it doesn't make them useless.
I'm guessing RTC is real time changing, also known as RTH real time hacking? If so, then yes. I've only seen this applicable to halo 3, halo reach and MW2 though. Yes, they are only for offline games on your jtag/rgh. And this requires your computer, there is no other way to alter in game values.
And I guess this is probably the most important question of all. Just keep your current set up. Triple nands are dumb, there is no point to them. Cygnos works well, and I'm assuming you have a coolrunner installed which also works very well. There is no need to update any of the glitch chips/dual nand pcb in your xbox if they are still working.
