hey take the xbox apart (not that hard.) lift up the face plate and go to the laser. rub a little cloth on the laser it should fix the problem, i know that it for burnt disc readers but trust me. and if that doesnt work, put it in ur freezer for 20 minutes. then over heat it.

Well this guy said from another forums that putting it in the freezer didnt do nothing
I put my xbox 360 in my freezer....
I was recently experimenting with cooling my xbox 360, and I tried soldering my 5v fan wire to a 12v output on my motherboard to make the fan run faster, and it did, but anywho.....

I burned out the fan so I had to buy a new talismoon one from llama.com. But just to see how much cooling would improve performance, Yes, I put my xbox 360 in my freezer. It wasn't completely put together, just the motherboard and the metal casing around it, with the hard drive hooked up. also remember, I don't have a fan in here, because I burned it out, but the xbox 360 was open, and Im putting this thing in my freezer, so what could happen? I let the wires run out from the side as the freezer was closed, and I put a small tv next to my fridge to play on.
I turned on my xbox 360 and closed the door to the freezer. I went to the dashboard and started the rainbow six vegas demo, and I couldn't really see a jump in performance. Then, after playing for only about 3 minutes, the image was gone and all I could see was the words 'video 1' on my screen. Perhaps the xbox 360 got too cold? Get this: there were two red lights blinking on the front of my xbox when I opened my freezer.
I looked it up on microsoft.com and that meant that the xbox was too hot. My freezer was on high. The rest of the xbox 360 casing was freezing. but the cpu heatsink? Almost hot to the touch. Definitely hotter than room temperature, and thats right out of the freezer. Damn, this thing gets hot!

Try the penny trick I did it to mine and it really did work. you Wrap 2 pennys in Electrical tape all the way around once then do the other side all the way around once. Do it so you have 4 squares with two pennies in each. on the bottom of the motherboard there is 4 black chips they might have a spongy thing on them take those off if so(Mine didn't) Replace or put the squares one per chip. keep the board upside down and place the metal case on so the pennys stay in place. Screw everything back in make sure the pennys are still in the right place. Hope this helps like it did to mine. Also there is videos on youtube.
