For those who don't know, Young Earth Creationsim [YEC] is the theory that the Earth was created by God in 6/7 days and is only 6,000 Years old.

Although most Christians do not believe in this there are still people who do. [Sarah Palin being one of them]

I could give you lots of obvious evidence as to why this theory is impossible. Such as carbon dating and fossil discovery.

So, I'm going to take on one of the more obscure aspects of the theory.
The aspect which attempts to disprove that modern science can disprove this theory.

This is complicated and for some of you will be too hard to understand. I do not wish to insult your intelligence but it's a simple truth.

This MIGHT be offensive to Religious people but considering it is mostly Scientific theory I cannot see how it would unless of course you are a believer in the YEC Theory.

Why Young Earth Creationists Must Deny Gravity

The Universe Is BIG, Very Big.

So far, Scientists have learned that the universe must be big and that the speed of light could not have been faster.
Doing either means that you must deny the theory of gravity.
[If we can see something 12 billion light years away it must have taken the light 12 billion years to reach us. Proving that the universe is old.]

If you didnt know, many young earth creationists counter this argument with the White hole theory.
Essentially, these holes are shortcuts through the universe, space and time.
[Picture an elastic band in a circle and then put a pencil through the middle, the pencil would be a shortcut from one side of the universe to the other]
This would allow us to see distant objects in a young universe. Unfortunately there is not a shred of evidence for this theory... except the Bible. [YECs mean Worm holes not White holes]

Here are 10 reasons why this theory is impossible without denying the theory of Gravity:

10) Isolated white holes violate the 2nd law of thermodynamics. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

9) No known physics allows worm holes to be stable or transmit material or light through them.

8) Wormholes restrict our view preventing us seeing any large, extended objects. To be able to see an entire star the worm hole exit would be just outside the orbit of Pluto. So, we would need one worm hole for every star. As you could never see more than 1 through each because of the restricted view. A worm hole for all 10 billion trillion stars.


7) For this to be true we must have a shell of 10 billion trillion wormhole exits surrounding the Solar system. Remember that a worm hole is a warp in the fabric of space and time and that Einstein showed us that a warp in space and time and gravity are the same. So, as the light from more distant stars, just outside the shell of wormholes, passes them it should be bent in very obvious ways. But since the OUT end of a worm hole has repulsive gravity it should bend light in a very unique and noticeable way. Obviously the worm holes are all 6,000 light years away, since the universe is only 6,000 years old, according to young earth creationists, light that has passed them hasnt had a chance to reach us yet.

6) Binary stars would cause the worm hole exits to orbit one another. We would be able to detect the extreme curvature of space when one star eclipses the other.

5) The shell of wormholes would gravitationally influence one another. But they cannot move as the vast majority of stars have only imperceptible angular velocities relative to the earth. Remember, if the worm hole exit moves, the star will also appear to move.

4) The gravity from the worm holes should compress the solar system into the sun.

3) 10 billion trillion wormholes connecting us to every other star in the universe would impose enormous bends in the fabric of space. Since bent space = Gravity this means that 10 billion trillion wormholes... essentially ripping the universe to shreds.

2) Distant stars appear dimmer and smaller, yet connecting stars with worm holes would put them just 6,000 light years away. The stars would be immensely bright.

1) Objects appear younger the further we look out into space. When you see something 1 billion light years away, you see that object as it was 1 billion years ago. Yet wormholes put things as 6,000 years old. So we would see something as it was 6,000 years ago. Even though scientists have multiple independent techniques of determining the age of stars and galaxies at long distances.

For those looking to say I have copied and pasted this post from a website etc, I have been collecting the information over the past few weeks for a thesis I am doing.
