jinsta wrote Well since March...sadly not allots changed, units still dud! Spoke to the chap who did the coolrunner jobby and agreed to get it back there, but due to personal commitments he couldn't do it st8 way and the unit only went back earlier this month. No biggie, I was alright to wait as the main thing was just getting it sorted properly and tbh i thought it best just having the one set of hands messing with the the unit.
Well went back and it was confirmed that it was getting hot and fix was having cool runner off and put back on which had apparently sorted issue
Gr8 i thought, but when i got it back, fired it up to find another bigger issue It now will just crash/freeze within a min or so being on. The longest i got was upto loading up a game...only for it to freeze (about 3mins)
I have no idea if it still has the overheating issue as cant stay on long enough to find out, but guess that's neither here nor there at the moe. I done a little google and cause might be a solder issue but I've got no idea
Could it be s.w related? I'm using Freestyle dash as launcher, but assume thats the norm? It worked ok before and all the games are same as previously and although on a worst case something was corrupt, disk based games fair no better at the moe
Mailed the seller a couple times and had no reply yet - I'll hold out little longer (might be on hols or something, mentioned starting new job) but been 10days and patience running little slim. I'm so out of pocket with this xbox at the moe its just silly
Your getting e71 trust me i repaired ALOT of slims and that's the first sign.
Send it in to a trusted seller asap!

Thanks guys - I'll try seller again as he quite reputable, so hopefully will deal with this and reflow machine back into life. Gota say, wish I didn't bother with the whole RGH now as fear the the xBox has just been junked into a large paperweight.
I remember many moons ago, did the original xbox (non 360) and it was a one time affair...still going now, even the chipped PS1 still has life in the old girl - Are problems the norm with doing the slims or am i just unlucky?

I hate to name and shame but have no choice...Paypal dispute opened against seller user PCP008 ([email protected], paypal id Custom Controllers) for 30 i just got done on for failed repairs.
Original 50 for RGH is over 45days so cant dispute with paypal and guess will need to raise with credit card company as covered by them
Further 30 for postage is lost and safe to say i've been screwed over - my new xbox 360 is fcuk'd, so gr8, another 150 in the bin.
I have been more than reasonable but just being ignored, left VM on number he called me from when was sorting said repair (and its just off at all times, so assume just a temp number he uses), not ever hounded this guy with mails, leaving fair amount of response time at all times....just cant see how more patient i could of been really.
It literally has been yonks since the failed RGH and even though now inactive on here, my mail about failed repair was still before last login - i had hope guy was decent enough to sort this, but guess not

Pleased to say the 360s been sorted and working perfectly!
Turns out the latest issues were all being caused by poor soldering for the cool-runner - one wire was literally just about making contact and so weak it broke off on the lightest of tugs/generally could have been installed better. Big shout to Eddie of [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] for sorting it...just amazing service! Collected, repaired and delivered in person within a 24hr window.
Really cant ask for any more than that, but gotta say he also receipts & guarantees his work + repairs are also on a sorted fix&pay basis only. Hellalot of pride in what he does
