Double the price? really?
Ok, prove it. Find me a pre-built PC with the following specs for less than $999 (half the price of the equivalent mac ):
Quadcore i5, 3.1GHz
27" IPS monitor @ 2560x1440 resolution
4 GB 1333MHz RAM (expandable to at least 16 GB)
Radeon HD 6970M 1 GB
(Here's a hint: the 27" monitor alone will cost you $700+)
And my case has been rested.
My brother has a quad core i7 with 8gb ram and more less the same graphics card, not a 27" monitor tho. Why would you even want that big? That's stupid.

i really didn't want to get involved in this thread, however, i just wanted to add my opinion, why would you even consider a 27" monitor for a computer? seriously my tv is a 32" and i find it too big, for a tv. if i had a computer with anything bigger than 22" it would be waaaaaay to big.

The big screen is fantastic if you are a photographer or graphic artist.
If you are hating on the Mac, chances are your parents wont buy you one.

not at all, i work 35 - 40 hours a week and buy my own things, i just find it a waste. desktop wise i can purchase a better laptop for a cheaper price, im not saying half the price, thats a lie. But i can make my own desktop for a much cheaper price than a mac. as for laptops, lets be honest. i just searched on bestbuy and the macbooks pro for $1300 didnt even have dedicated graphics cards, they had integrated cards. i can buy a samsung laptop for 700 with 4gb ram and a dedicated card.

Way to go you successfully waste money on one of the most overrated piece of shit with horrible specs. Could build a custom Pc that could play games, do graphics, render videos at 5x better performance and faster. Also have fun trying to upgrade your mac cause apple practically hardcore child proofed it. And if you want to get an upgrade have fun paying an extra $200 for someone to slightly upgrade a part. Macs are just aesthetically pleasing. Now about the OS. People say "M4cz H4v3 teh 1337 OSX". OSX is complete garbage. Its barley customizable and is made for mentally defected tards that cant use windows.
Point is could build a custom Pc for less money with better performance and specs, and don't say "i don't know how to build a PC" Cause its as simple as finding compatible parts and plugging them in.
nothing against you, but that mac was a waste of money. just saying :3

I have at work a new iMac and Mac Pro (the 27" 3.4GHz i7 and the 12 core dual 3.06GHz Mac Pro) and for home I have a Mac Book Pro with the 2.7GHz processor and honestly all of them run most of the Creative Suite and Lightroom without any issues at all (simultaneously of course)
Being an artist I would never use a PC after using a Mac for so long.
