Ok, I am truly stuck on this. I have heard that they are both used for games (maybe more uses I don't know. My sources weren't great). But I want to make clients and plugins for Minecraft. And start to code games. Which one is should I learn? Please help! Also, if you have any eBooks that can help me start, that would be awesome! Thank you!

Dude, you're gonna have to spend a lot longer learning to code than you think.... so be prepared to learn Java for at least a year before you can code a game...

I know it will be about a year or two before I can code a game. But the longer I wait to start, the longer it will be before I do make one.

Personally I prefer Java, but I use C# know and then.
But I'd recommend you to learn the basics of Java, before jumping straight into making Minecraft Clients etc as it isn't as easy as many people think.
If you need any help PM me.

C++ is harder to get the basics but is used to make most big pc games and window based applications, this is because it is lot faster than the non-native languages like (Java, C#), if you know C++ you will know C what will let you make drivers and if you are skilled enough operating systems. Java is easier and lets you make applets and cross platform applications, it also lets you use JSP for dynamic web pages(C++ also can do this with a framework call Wt, but is a lot harder to learn). They are both used a lot in the real world, Java has the best IDE's. Here are some books that I learnt from:
C++:
C++: A Beginner's Guide;
C++: The Complete Reference;
Java:
Java All-in-One For Dummies;
Java The Complete Reference, 8th Edition;
I would Recommend C++ it is hard but quite fun, if you do not want C++ don't do C# do Java. Hope it helps
