Posting nonsense without having anything to back it up? Wow, you're so original and creative that it's mind blowing. You don't fit into the ignorant crowd of blind sheep at all.

Give me one reason why a Mac is better for media/business reasons over a Thinkpad T series. Please, tell me.

Almost all design programs where originally designed for Mac, and alot of the PC bugs dont exist on mac. The crash rates are much lower on mac, and for someone making a living off of something like graphic design a computer that rarely crashes is very important to them. I use my mac to create videos, edit photos, and after using it for 2 years I have not experience a single crash.

That's funny, because I'm running Windows 7 on my custom built tower and I've never experienced bugs and/or crashes.

You provide no proof ( not that there is any ).

A Windows notebook like the Asus Prime can do everything an Apple notebook can for a fraction of the price with better specifications and an O/S that is more compatible.

Wow man you are the only person i have ever seen say they have never had any bugs or crashes on a windows machine :O.

Lets also think about how iphones and ipads are hugely popular now in business and the great compatibility they have with macs.

Honestly some of the technology that is available right now to mac users i don't will be available to your window user for 2 maybe 3 years.

Much better alternatives to an iPhone ( Nexus, OneX, GSIII, etc ). Personally, I think tablets in general are the stupidest thing you can buy and have no place so I'm not even going to touch on that subject.

Tablets are high in the workplace right now and even though you may feel like the android alternatives are better than iphones that's not the case for most of the world which can be seen from the majority control apple holds over the mobile phone industry.

Companies that bought tablets have seen unusually high rates of them being useless. I can find the statistic if you want. Android has a significantly larger share of the smartphone market as well.

Nexus 7? $200. How much is the iPad now?
#

And other company's find that they improve productivity in the work place in depends on the industry.
The nexus 7 just came out you have to at least give them time to bring out something to compete in the 7 inch market.

The electronics market waits for nobody. The tablet market didn't wait for Android's offerings to catch up, so why should it now for Apple?

I am just saying that apple does not yet have anything to compete in the 7 inch market so why compere them. But its not like apple are rushing since they still have a 87.5 percent share of the tablet market in north America.

The thing is, they never will have anything to compete with it in the same price range.

That's almost as stupid as saying 'X' Apple computer is going to be better than a custom built tower because they did not do a complete refresh of their line. We all know it's complete BS, but the sheep still drool over it because they're clueless.

Apple have an amazing computer option the mac Pro yeah its expensive but still its one of the best computers for a business you could hope for

Popularity =/= quality. Macs are a freaking IT nightmare. Also, please name me some technologies you speak of.

Retina displays. 2880x1800 resolution on a laptop. And then there's all the apple exclusive software like iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand which is quite amazing with its most promising competitors also mac only pieces of software.
Thinkpads had QXGA (2048x1536) IPS panels over five years ago. On a smaller panel with a matte finish as well. Nearly the same pixel density.

Free software for Windows has the exact same fucntionality as everything you listed.[/spoil]
Want to show some proof of free software which is better than Ilife.

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

I can go on, there are plenty of Mac bundled apps I can provide free alternatives to.

Lol they are nothing near the standards of ilife.
Oh really? Also, the fact that you're comparing paid software to free and some open-source software is completely ridiculous.[/spoil]

You said you could show something that reached the standards of them programs that was free and now since you could not produce something of the same quality that was free you are saying that me compering them is ridiculous.
It is ridiculous that you insist free programs be compared to expensive paid programs. What's also ridiculous (in a different sense) is that they can hold their own. It's not like there aren't dozens more options than the ones I listed as alternatives.

can run windows on my mac, can you run mac on your windows computer?

Yes.

Wouldn't that mean Mac is much more compatible?

No. You're delusional if you think so.

Bringing up price is simply ridiculous, any computer with similar design features cost within 200 dollars of a macbook pro.

No, it's not ridiculous. No, it won't. Asus Prime with 1080p IPS panels. Better specifications, build quality, resolution, design. It's also hundreds of dollars cheaper.

To be honest it doesnt sound like you have had any experience using a macbook pro first hand to know whether you would like it more or not.

If I wanted an Apple notebook, I'd get one. The thing is, I did not reach the point in my life where I let marketing rule me. In summary, I'm too intelligent to use a machine that gets crushed in every single way by alternative Windows Ultrabooks.

I know I have had plenty of use with windows, and in my personal opinion I like macs 100 times more.

Typical.

Generic M-ATX boards with no features and low quality PSU's that are prone to fail. The same thing I wrote below applies to Apple computers.

There are a whole list of reasons to not go with an Alienware computer or an Apple product as a whole. One of the only "advantages" they have and why they are so popular is due to their aesthetics and marketing. Dell and Apple are huge players and companies and have the budget to pump out ads and commericals all over the place and persuade people to go with their product. But there are a lot of things the consumer does not know and is very crucial. From my point of view, I think Alienware computers look like something that came out of a Toys-r-us store, but Apple on the other hand and their computers do look elegant (not talking about build quality, pure looks from above) - and that's one of the main reasons they can charge $1,000's of dollars and have them fly off shelves. Now, to the consumer they think this is a beast of a machine, particularly for editing for some reason, which is completely false. But from a computer enthusiasts point of view, this is a really bad investment. Dell and Apple have a long reputation of stuffing last generation, outdated, underpowerd hardware into a nice looking shell (to some) and charge more for it compared to a better specd custom build for example with better and more reliable parts. But some people don't want to spend an hour and learn how to build a PC and they see these ignorant fellos on Youtube for example who don't know a clue about what they are talking about thinking and blabbering on how this is such a good machine and saying it's really good for your budget, when it's not, AT ALL.

Alienware/pre-built computers from major players (HP, Acer, Gateway (owned by HP), and Lenovo) - there are many more, those are the ones that I can think of on the top of my head.Their PSUs... My God... I could write a 50 page report on these companies are POS and don't care about the consumer and have no quality control, but I'll make it short. They spend as little as they can on this part (which is essentially the heart of your system and if it dies, it can bring your other expensive components down with it). The end result of this catastrophe is a really sub-par 300-350w PSU that can barely pull the system it's running. They have horrible efficiencies, ripple regulation and rails. There is one major review on Anandtech actually reviewing a similar PSU and they basically just say it delivers half of the advertised wattage, gets very loud, and does not hit bronze efficiency for example (worse for hydro bill). I can't stress that skimping out on the PSU is the BIGGEST mistake you could possibly do. It will also hender and set road blocks for upgrading your components. (I.E - I want to upgrade my video card, oh wait, I have a POS PSU that can actually explode and kill parts if stressed enough).

Now their motherboard, same thing as the PSU - they put the absolute cheapest stuff they can find. I could only assume they are really fragile and flimsy. I know for a fact that HP makes their own MOBO's and imported Foxconn boards a while ago. It's basically what you see is what you get. No overclocking friendly features such as a beefy power phase with attractive heatsinks, no support for multiple video cards, lack of SATA connectors so there is HDD/SSD limitations and they are usually green boards that are down right ugly. Their I/O panels aren't very eye opening either.

AMD/Intel CPUs are all the same around the block - I.E a 2500k in a HP desktop will be the same as a 2500k in custom build - the same usually goes for RAM. Only advantage of selecting your own RAM is the selection of different speeds, timings, latencies, colors, and heatsinks even though they do nothing.

Their cases are usually glossy plastic with 1 weak 120mm at the back side of the case that are usually dead silent for a reason; they do nothing. The cases are usually very small and compact, but the downside to this is no features, as usuall, this is a common trend amung pre-configured and built PC's. No toollees for upgrading, only fit M-ATX form factor, fit only low profile video cards and have no room for ventilation, and no cable management system so you end up with a bunch of non sleeved yellow power cabled in the middle of the case being held up by one zip tie (very generous, I know).

And after they install this, they charge double and advertise it to customers who don't know a lot about computer hardware and say this is some ''BF3 beast'' when in the real world, a 5670 isn't even going to boot up BF3.

If you're still "scared" of building it yourself, there are still many options out there, one of them being NCIX and their PC building service - YOU select the parts (they obviously have to be compatible with each other) and they will charge $50 to build it for YOU from the ground up (cable management and temperature testing included). CyberpowerPC is the second option, but they are limited and more pricey.

In my opinon, a Fractal R3 or Bitfenix Shinobi looks far greater than some multi-colored Alienware junk.

YOU ARE PAYING FOR THE NAME AND SOME LEDS! THAT IS ALL! They price it at such a high point because they know ignorant, usually pre-pubescent children will ask their parents to buy it and they know it sells.

I hope you're kidding. The Mac Pro, especially now that it's been starved of a refresh, is stupid, for lack of a better word. You're paying for specs, but getting absolutely nothing in comparison. It's not even a valid purchase any more and it's forced a lot of Mac loyalists to the PC side. I've seen it happen, and I've worked on a Mac Pro. I nearly threw up upon hearing how much it cost my school, considering how pitiful the machine was.

You honestly just lost 90% of your credibility.

They created the consumer tablet market entirely, of course they're going to have the leg up. I'm not going to act like the iPad wasn't the best thing since sliced bread for awhile. I'd say the Transformer Prime was the first real competitor to it. The Nexus 7 delivered the killing blow, completely besting every tablet on the market. Now is when this market will get truly interesting, I can't wait to see where it goes from here now that we have to real contenders. Hopefully more will join the party as well.

Yet again, having the majority does not make the product better.

i am sure apple don't see it that way.
Anyway like always next time apple refresh all there products to beat everything so much it takes every other company 6 months to bring something close to the standards like they do every year everyone will go buy them while the nexus 7 will be over crowded by the rush of quad core that are being released as we speak. No one can deny it the nexus 7 is a budget tablet and that is all it will be ever be in the eyes of the consumer.
And now there are a lot of rumors of an ipad mini to compete for the budget market.

They are really well designed and have a lot of exclusive technologies (not this model but the more expensive ones with retina displays). If any of you anti mac people get a job in media one day a mac will be your best friend

The tablet market didn't wait for Android's offerings to catch up, so why should it now for Apple?[/spoil]
I am just saying that apple does not yet have anything to compete in the 7 inch market so why compere them. But its not like apple are rushing since they still have a 87.5 percent share of the tablet market in north America.

When was the last time there was a budget iDevice? :S

The thing is, they never will have anything to compete with it in the same price range.

That's almost as stupid as saying 'X' Apple computer is going to be better than a custom built tower because they did not do a complete refresh of their line. We all know it's complete BS, but the sheep still drool over it because they're clueless.[/spoil]
Apple have an amazing computer option the mac Pro yeah its expensive but still its one of the best computers for a business you could hope for
I hope you're kidding.

I got alienware lol it's 300 dollers cheaper than that mac [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] I was ganna buy one from those cheap custom pc built sites but i said na lol

But for big company's that don't really care about the cost and just care out the 12 cores and mac osx its great.

They're still getting unreliable components regardless of price. The same low quality MOBO's and PSU's that are found in pre-built towers at your local BestBuy are more or less the same thing found in the Mac Pro but somehow 3-4 x the price because it's Apple and they can charge that because they know the clueless sheep will buy it instantly.
