Bringing up price is simply ridiculous, any computer with similar design features cost within 200 dollars of a macbook pro.

No, it's not ridiculous. No, it won't. Asus Prime with 1080p IPS panels. Better specifications, build quality, resolution, design. It's also hundreds of dollars cheaper.

Asus Prime 13 inch $1,096.40

13 inch macbook air $1,199.00
Specs for macbook are slightly better.

That's not hundreds of dollars cheaper, it's 100 dollars cheaper. The Air has better specs, better build quality and a better design than the Asus. It also has a much better trackpad.

with the 100 dollars student discount it actually ends up almost the exact same haha. Not to mention the higher resolution screen, and pre installed photo and video editing software.

There are free software alternatives on PC that have equivalent fucntionality.

The 1080p IPS panel in itself makes the UX31A a better computer.

Lol take a look at the macbook air specs, they are alot better actually

They're very nearly identical aside from the screen.

If someone wants to buy a Mac, let them.

If you don't like Mac, then don't buy one.

This argument is no more mature or developed than a "xbox v. ps3" debate. You can spend days spouting logic that can easily be refuted with personal preference. Apparently no one has every heard of something called "luxury". No need to have another cirlcejerk thread about pcs being better than mac or vice versa.

It's plenty mature. Personal preference is an excuse to buy an inferior product. If you don't want to listen to what we have to say, don't. Whether or not it's your loss is up to you.

The thing is, there is nothing to argue about.

If someone wants to pay more for less, let them. But if another fellow sheep starts spouting random comments that are flawed, sure I'm going to list some facts and break him down.

If you don't like the thread, don't click on it.

I know this is a lot of money, but come on guys, we really don't need to be that much of butthurt flamers over this.

I don't mind macs. I find they are an average computer. However I do see a lot of stuff wrong with them; but I still don't mind them. When it comes up to the decision of choosing between both, I would choose PC in a heartbeat. I find there is more choice and a lot more positive say about them then macs.

All of the macs specs are better, and the price is the same. Your argument is 100% invalid...

My butt's in no pain. I'm not so autistic that I can't handle people buying something I don't like...

But maybe I am enough that I'll post why it was a bad decision. Because there's no denying it was a bad decision.

0/10. Try again.

Enjoy your sub par resolution and glossy finger print magnet panels.

What are you talking about? What specs sheet are you looking at?

4GB RAM
128GB SSD
Similar CPU
Better battery life
Better screen
Equivalent design

So why would you buy the Macbook again?

The problem here is that it is 13". You will have trouble seeing things on the screen and will be squinting all the time. Good job though for saving your money!
