I have a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am. I bought it used for $375 and it came with the stock speakers but a new stereo so I want to buy better speakers. The stereo it came with was the JVC KD-R310. I am wondering if that will be able to support sub-woofers and speakers of high quality. I have a budget and I'd like to keep it below $500 if that's possible. All I want to do is bump down the street and be loud haha sound quality is nice though. Can anyone help? I understand I might need an amplifier. Please specify the best kinds. Thanks!

I suggest getting pioneer deck, with those get kicker subs they are car subs that have everything you need and the amp what ever you want but if have everything you want already then just get a new amp by purchasing online or at a local store just ask for a pioneer amp and they should know what your looking for.

You just want subs? You know there is more than bass in songs right.

My car has a 14 speaker sound system with one small sub and sounds 1000x better than a crappy stereo with two huge subs.

got any pictures of the car?

and i would suggest depending were you are from, i'd get for the subs, i'm saving up for 2 40" subwoofers, and a Pioneer set, total about = $150, pretty damn sexy in my case.

My car i'm getting is gonna be a 1994 Honda Civic.

Please dont take the ricer route but if I were you, I would go for dual 12" ported subs. Ported makes the boom boom when your going down the street, and you need 2 amps. JL audio makes great subs for cars and I'm saving for one. Alpine makes good amps, and for speakers I would go to your local specialty shop. Instead of TTG I would go to someplace like caraudio. PM me if you need help

I don't think you can buy 40" subs anywhere.
