It just depends i have jail broken a tone of iDevices and never had trouble with either one but its up to you. With red sn0w you have to do certain button combinations and with green poison you dont

Whereas in RedsnOw you have to put your device into the DFU mode, and if you are not an expert of doing that, you might have to repeat the procedure a couple of times.
Although the latest version of RedsnOw allows users to sit back and relax while RedsnOw jailbreaks their iDevice, just like Absinthe has been doing since the start, but that is only for Apple A5X chip devices which include iPhone 4S and iPad2 etc. But for A4 and below devices, you still have to go through the entire DFU method to jailbreak your iDevice.
