Sad news: The world's first stereo headphone (well, one of the first) is being discontinued. After 75 years, beyerdynamic is discontinuing the DT48 because it cannot produce any more drivers due to the fact that the special metal mixture used for the drivers is impossible to recreate.

I'm sorely tempted to ditch all my plans and buy a DT48A before new ones don't exist any more.

And for 0-$15, there really isn't much to recommend other than the Elago E3 (I think I have a pair laying around and I remember they're really bassy) and Monoprice 8320.

I'm really not surprised he's not too impressed to be honest. They aren't that great in the grand scheme of things, but compared to most other fashion headphones, they're at least tolerable.
