Well, if hes proud of it, then thats okay. The best way is to start with a tutorial. You shouldnt claim it as yours, but instead look at all the layers of what you make or any good PSD to learn the techniques that you can implement into other works. I started with gamebattles logo PSDs, then learned from here and there.

Well like i said im a beginner!!!! and thats how they learn and im sure if you ever done gfx you would look up how to do stuff...
