can you upgrade it into a 64-bit and if so how?

Yes, but you will need the minimum specs to run the x64 Bit version of the OS you are operating. Google the minimum OS specs for the windows version you are using, then figure out if you can run it.
If you can, then you are able to purchase Windows 7 x64 for example, then install the DVD. Installing the new OS will wipe your computer free of everything, as if it was brand new. You are also able to download it from certain websites.
