i know its normal for an iphone home button to become less responsive and not work after awhile, but i just got this phone 2 months ago and it stopped working anything i could do to try to fix it?

Either take it to apple, or search up on youtube how to fix and do it yourself.

jailbreak it, and set the home button with Activator to Volume upd down,

I dont really know. It happend to my Touch,but I didnt care and I sold it. :trollin:

It doesn't necessarily have to be Apple which repairs it, if your warranty is void just take the phone to a normal repair shop and they should be able to do it for you!

there is a setting which allows you to use an on screen button to use things such as the home button.

This is true, you will need Activator from Cydia, however, there is no point having an iPhone that does not function correctly, as you will not be able to access Multitasking or other commands needed by the home button, such a false power off.
