Monday Im buying a 3.55 PS3 from someone and the hd is only 60GB i have a 320 GB harddrive from a broken laptop if i configure it to my 4.21 ps3 right now so when i get the 3.55 ps3 with it mess it up in anyway? by Mess it up i mean will it not let me jailbreak it anymore?

You have to format it with a linux computer to sonys format, and then you have to put 4.21 on there, and im pretty sure you wont be able to use it in your ps3

falhitman719 wrote you wont mess it up because it is programed individualy to each system has different codes and the the hard drive will ask you to format it then you format it to 3.55 firmware then you can jailbreak it because when i formated my 1tb to my 4.11 ps3 then i got 3.55 ps3 then formated in that and then it worked just make sure you know what your doing rep plz
An external hdd is different than the hdd in your ps3 :facepalm:
