If you're going to get into gaming, you should not get a gaming laptop, that is not a good way to get into it. For your budget you can make a pretty decent Desktop for gaming.

A gaming laptop isn't good unless you KNOW that you will be traveling a lot.

I would recommend a gaming desktop though for the best experience though.
